Taxes and Corporate Tax in Kazakhstan Central Asia for Foreigners

The corporate tax in Kazakhstan is calculated at 20%. This is known as Corporate Income Tax or (CIT). The percentage of tax you are required to pay depends on the business structure you choose to adopt. 

There are four popular business structures; these are: 

  • Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs)
  • Joint stock companies 
  • Branch offices 
  • Representative Offices 

You are required to obtain a tax certificate and tax code and file an annual tax return for each of these business structures, except the representative office. 

Corporate tax in Kazakhstan for foreigners

The tax rate for each of these company structures is 20%, except for the representative office. A representative office is used solely for promotion and market research purposes. This type of business structure cannot be used to trade in Kazakhstan. It is an extension of its parent company. 

Non-residents of Kazakhstan are taxed solely on the income gained through Kazakhstan. In comparison, Kazakhstan residents are taxed on their complete income.
